I started Martial Arts training in 1968 with the late Grandmaster Jhoon Rhee location in DC. While in High School, I met 3 young ladies who trained with Simba Dojang. Once I visited the Baptist Center, I was hooked . I trained until I tested and was awarded my Black Belt in 1973. I was ranked #1 in Region 10 (1972) I competed in various tournament along the East Coast, winning in a great deal. They included 1997 - Tri- Area tournament (Robert Everhart) 1St (Sparring and Weapons) 1997 - JW Fall Classics 2nd (Sparring) 2001 - John E Howard Invitational 2nd (Sparring) 2001 - Battle in Suitland 1st (Forms and Grand Champion) 2001 - JW Winter Classics 1st (Sparring), 3rd (Forms) I have been presented with various awards. They included Living Legend (Shihan Robert Everhart) Simba Dojang Hall of Fame 2005 - Simba Dojang Lifetime Achievement Hall of Fame 2005 - Simba Dojang Pioneer Award 2009- USHOFMMA Hall of Fame (Master Warrior of Honors) 45th Anniversary/ 3rd Annual Pioneer Award /Simba Dojang Power Punchers Award 2017 - the Philadelphia Historic Martial Arts Society (Class of 2017) 2018 - Action Martial Arts Magazine Hall of Honors 2018 - Masters of Martial Arts (Atlantic City NJ)2018 - USHOFMA Association International, Elite Grandmaster Warrior of Honor 2019 - Masters of Martial Arts (Atlantic City NJ) I am the highest ranking female in Simba Dojang (10the Degree) My other ranking are 1971 - White Belt (Judo) Howard University 9/18/1973 - 1st Degree Black Belt 10/27/1985 - 2nd Degree Black Belt 2/5/1998 - 4th Degree Black Belt 8/19/2002 - 6th Degree Black Belt 2007 - 8th Degree Black Belt 1/28/2012 - 9th Degree Black Belt 7/21/2018 - 10th Degree Black Belt Currently I'm Senior Instructor with Ponders School of Martial Arts in Temple Hills, MD. I trained with GM Robert McDuffy (DC Dragons Black Belt Club). I am also the Network Correspondent for Lady Sensei Women Martial Arts Network and the Ambassador for US International Senior Grandmaster Council. I trained with various weapons - Bo, Escrima StIcks, Sais, Cane and Eku (Oar)
